Scale tab of the Transform dialog box

This tab lets you resize selected objects with precision. You can also leave a trail of copies of an object while scaling it.

Horizontal and
Vertical

Defines the percentage change in the current horizontal and/ or vertical size of an object. The current size is 100%. A number below 100% decreases the object size, and a number above 100% increases the size. The horizontal and vertical sizes are the same unless you deselect the Proportional Scale option.

Proportional Scale

If selected, sets the Vertical percentage to the same value you specify in Horizontal, and vice versa. If not selected, lets you set Horizontal and Vertical values separately.

Origin

Lets you select the handle or point on the object at which the transform originates. The default is the object's pivot point (usually at the center of the object's bounding box).

Copies

Type the number of copies to make while transforming an object. Each copy is scaled using the values from the previous copy. For example, if the first copy is scaled 10% larger, the second copy will be 10% larger than the first, the third copy will be 10% larger than the second, and so on. To scaled only the original object, set the number of copies to 0.

Group Copies

Automatically groups all the copies after a transform, but not the original object.

Details
